Description

This easy to make bread is packed with raisins and walnuts. It's a great in the morning, with tea or for dessert.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1.3 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup raisins
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, beat together egg, applesauce and butter. Stir applesauce mixture into flour mixture just until combined. Fold in walnuts and raisins; pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  3. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
