Description

I make this on the weekend for the kids to eat through the week. I double the recipe with no problems. It is a great way to use up the applesauce in the fridge.

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups quick-cooking oats
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • ¼ cup applesauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. 2. Combine oats, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Add milk, butter, applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until a smooth, thin consistency is reached. Pour oatmeal into prepared baking dish.
  3. 3. Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, 25 to 30 minutes.
