Description

For years, any time my mum makes her baked beans people ask for the recipe. There are rarely any leftovers, and the first thing people will ask at get-togethers is 'Who made the baked beans?' These baked beans are so simple to make, and so delicious you'll wish you would have doubled the recipe! I tried tweaking the recipe once...the family consensus was 'Don't EVER mess with the recipe again.'

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, or as needed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can baked beans with pork
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 4 strips bacon
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch square casserole dish.
  2. 2. Combine baked beans, ketchup, cooked bacon, brown sugar, and mustard powder in a bowl. Pour mixture into the prepared dish. Arrange bacon strips on top. Cover with aluminum foil.
  3. 3. Bake in the preheated oven until top is browned and crisp, 20 to 30 minutes.
