Skillet Bacon and Broccoli Macaroni and Cheese

Description
Broccoli florets and bacon add great flavor, color, and texture to baked macaroni and cheese--and it's on the table in less than 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 (6 ounce) boxes Horizon® ClassicMac™ Macaroni & Mild Cheddar Cheese
- ½ cup Horizon® Organic Milk
- 4 tablespoons Horizon® Organic Butter
- ½ pound bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 shallot, diced
- 12 ounces broccoli florets, cooked to crisp-tender
- ¾ cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- 2. Prepare macaroni and cheese according to package instructions.
- 3. Brown bacon pieces in a large, oven-proof skillet over medium heat. Remove with a slotted spoon. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
- 4. Saute shallots in skillet over medium heat until translucent. Return cooked bacon to skillet; stir in broccoli. Add the prepared macaroni and cheese and stir to combine.
- 5. Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle over the top of the macaroni and cheese.
- 6. Bake until topping is lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
