Description

A tasty spaghetti with olive oil instead of the traditional tomato sauce. This is great with bread topped with the olive oil sauce and Provolone cheese that's been toasted in the oven.

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup olive oil, divided
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • ½ (16 ounce) package spaghetti
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
Directions
  1. 1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Stir 1/4 cup olive oil and basil into water. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
  2. 2. Heat remaining olive oil in a small pot over medium heat. Cook and stir onion, garlic, thyme, and sea salt in hot oil until fragrant and softened, 8 to 10 minutes. Pour olive mixture over spaghetti and stir.
