Description

A very moist yellow cake that can be frosted with your favorite frosting. Makes 6 thin layers, or you can just make three layers.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour six 9 inch round pans. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Alternately beat in the flour mixture and the milk, mixing just until incorporated.
  3. 3. Divide batter into six 9 inch pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
