Applesauce Raisin Cookies II

Ingredients
- ¾ cup shortening
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup applesauce
- 1 egg
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ cup chopped raisins
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- 2. In a large bowl, mix together the shortening, brown sugar, applesauce and egg until smooth, Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves; stir into the applesauce mixture. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- 3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
