Description

Simple and full of flavor microwave green beans. Steam it or stir-fry it. A good basic recipe that you can build on. Prepare it many ways with varying ingredients. Delicious either way. A great veggie side that pairs well with most dishes.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • ½ cup water, or more as needed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions
  1. 1. Place green beans in a microwave-safe glass dish. Add water, garlic, oil, basil, salt, and pepper and mix together. Cover the dish with a lid.
  2. 2. Microwave on high power for 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Check water level, adding more if needed, and stir green beans. Replace the lid and microwave until tender-crisp, 3 to 5 minutes more.
