Description

Family recipe for plum pie, from my mother.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups sliced fresh plums
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. 2. Combine plums, sugar, flour, lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Pour into the pastry shell.
  3. 3. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Cut in butter until topping mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over plum mixture.
  4. 4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 50 to 60 minutes.
