Description

Great savory waffle to use as a side dish or substitute for the bread to make a great chicken and waffle sandwich.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ⅓ cups instant potato flakes
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ¼ cups milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices crispy cooked bacon, cut into bits
  • 3 green onions, minced
Directions
  1. 1. Combine flour, potato flakes, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  2. 2. Preheat a waffle iron.
  3. 3. Whisk milk, eggs, and oil together in a small bowl. Stir into the flour mixture until just moistened. Fold Cheddar cheese, bacon, and green onions into the batter.
  4. 4. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron. Bake according to manufacturer's directions, until golden brown, about 6 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.
