
Steve's Loaded Potato Waffles

Description
Great savory waffle to use as a side dish or substitute for the bread to make a great chicken and waffle sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ⅓ cups instant potato flakes
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 ¼ cups milk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 6 slices crispy cooked bacon, cut into bits
- 3 green onions, minced
Directions
- 1. Combine flour, potato flakes, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
- 2. Preheat a waffle iron.
- 3. Whisk milk, eggs, and oil together in a small bowl. Stir into the flour mixture until just moistened. Fold Cheddar cheese, bacon, and green onions into the batter.
- 4. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron. Bake according to manufacturer's directions, until golden brown, about 6 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.
