Lick-the-Bowl-Clean Chocolate Frosting

Description
This chocolate frosting is by far the best I've ever eaten. The secret is the Bailey's®. It has a terrific consistency, and will make any cake or cupcakes an extra special lick the fork clean treat!
Ingredients
- 1 (2 pound) package confectioners' sugar, divided
- 1 cup shortening
- ½ cup cold water, or more as needed
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon Irish cream liqueur (such as Bailey's Irish Cream®)
- 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
Directions
- 1. Beat 1/2 of the confectioner's sugar, shortening, cold water, cocoa powder, Irish cream liqueur, vanilla extract, and salt together in a bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 8 minutes. Beat in the remaining confectioner's sugar. If necessary, add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to reach desired consistency.
