Description

Protein powder is added in place of some flour to make these chocolate chip cookies much heartier without losing any taste. The kids love them and would never know they're a more wholesome alternative to a traditional cookie.

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup chocolate-flavored protein powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ stick unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup white sugar
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped raw walnuts
  • ¼ cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces (such as M&M's®)
Directions
  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. Combine flour, protein powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. 3. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in another large bowl and beat until creamy. Beat in egg and gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, walnuts, and candy pieces.
  4. 4. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. 5. Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
