Description

Natto is very popular in Japan, but not all Japanese like it. This food has people divided between those who like it and those who hate it because it has a special flavor and taste. Do you like natto? I like it very much because it's good for health.

Ingredients
  • 3 (5.25 ounce) packages natto
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cabbage, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • ⅛ cup crumbled laver, or to taste
  • 1 pinch dried bonito flakes, or more to taste
Directions
  1. 1. Combine natto and eggs in a bowl; mix well. Add cooked rice and mix using a rice paddle.
  2. 2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Spread egg mixture in the skillet and cook without stirring until browned, about 2 minutes. Add cabbage and soy sauce. Stir until mixed in and heated through, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Season fried rice with salt and pepper. Place portions onto 3 individual plates; sprinkle laver and bonito flakes on top.
