Description

Frozen chicken cooked in slow cooker on high. I came up with this on a snowed-in day when I could not make it out to our local BBQ restaurant. Each serving is enough for two slider buns or one regular hamburger bun. Top with your favorite BBQ sauce, like Sweet Baby Ray's®. I use my husband's homemade BBQ sauce. Serve with slaw, corn on the cob, or chips. And don't forget the sweet iced tea!!!

Ingredients
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ⅛ teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • ½ cup barbeque sauce, or to taste
Directions
  1. 1. Add chicken, water, lemon, jalapenos, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, and liquid smoke to a slow cooker in the order listed. Cook on High for 4 hours or on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
  2. 2. Transfer chicken to a medium bowl and shred with two forks. Top with barbeque sauce.
