Description
Delicious ground chicken Sloppy Joes. A weeknight staple at out home!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 (14 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- ½ cup barbeque sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray's®), or more to taste
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 6 (6 ounce) whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup sweet pickles
Directions
- 1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground chicken, onion, and garlic in the hot skillet until chicken is crumbly and no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes. Add cumin and chili powder; cook for 2 minutes more. Pour in kidney beans, barbeque sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire. Cook until heated through, 5 to 7 minutes.
- 2. Serve on toasted buns with Cheddar cheese and pickles.
